Pet CPR
A while back there was a house fire in Breesport, a dog was discovered unresponsive after being overcome by smoke. Bill and Vanessa Jewett, with the help of other firemen, brought the dog to the rescue truck and proceeded to give the large German Shepard oxygen until it recovered.
This event spurred Bill and Vanessa to explore more about helping pets in this way. They purchased equipment to make a kit for every fire department in Chemung County. The kits consist of oxygen masks for small, medium and large dogs with associated oxygen delivery devices.
