What is EMSTAR?
EMSTAR (Emergency Medical Services Training, Administration and Resources) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to optimizing the quality of pre-hospital care.
Our primary goals include:
- Supporting high quality education and training programs.
- Developing continuing education and training programs.
- Providing educational resources to instructors.
- Providing resources for EMS communication.
- Supporting the enhancement of public awareness of EMS.
- Functioning as a liaison and assisting in the coordination of County and member hospital efforts related to EMS.
- Supporting the goals and objectives of the Regional EMS Council and STREMAC.
Some of the ways we accomplish these goals are:
- Instructor recruitment and training
- ACLS, PALS and CPR courses
- Continuing Education Inservices through on-line and in-house programs
- Videotape library for instructors, training officers, EMS personnel
- Dispatch training
- Newsletter
- STAR (Southern Tier Assisted Response)
- Disaster Coordination and Training Assistance
- On-Line Medical Control forms
