ABOUT THE VIDEOTAPES:

EMSTAR offers a library of EMS videotapes and DVDs for your use. New titles are added each month. These videotapes/DVDs are designed to keep your students and EMS agency personnel up to date on issues in EMS, as well as to review treatments and procedures. Instructor guides are available with most of the tapes, as well as a list of objectives, and a quiz.
Each course is targeted to Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics, and includes approximately 60 minutes of video instruction. The videos incorporate incident reports, actual footage, 3-D animations, graphics, and re-enactments that present an in-depth review of vital EMS skills, anatomy, physiology, injury prevention, and legal issues.
SIGN UP NOW to become a registered borrower. As a registered borrower, you can call or e-mail your requests, and tapes/DVDs will be sent to you. You won’t have to come in to sign for your videos. Videos may be borrowed for two weeks; extensions may be granted upon request. Please allow five (5) business days for shipping your tapes/DVDs. You may be charged shipping for special rush requests.

  2. Preview the videotape.

  4. Determine any additional site-specific information relevant to the training topic.
  5. Duplicate the written materials for all members in attendance.
  6. Prepare the classroom to include a VCR and monitor; have the pare cued to where you plan to begin.
  7. Distribute copies of written materials to attendees
  8. Introduce the video title and objectives to the class. View the program and have the attendees take the exam
  9. Conduct an open “point-by-point” discussion of what was shown and how it pertains to your department and local protocols. Use the questions in the instructor’s guide.
  10. Provide “hands-on” experience: review and practice any technical skills presented in the video program.
