The New York State Department of Health has sent a letter out to those BLS and EMT-I ambulance services that, based on DOH records, have not made Notification to implement epi-pen autoinjectors. The letter asks that the services do one of the following...
- If you are so equipped, please provide the DOH with copies of the notification so that they can update their records.
- If you are not equipped, they are encouraging you to consider doing so.
Enclosed with the letter are Policy Statement 00-01 and the Notification form.
Please note - if you have epi-pens, the DOH DOES NOT want you to remove them from your vehicles. They just want you to make the appropriate notification as described in law.

A similar letter will be going to the BLS-FR services in the coming weeks.
