ACLS PROVIDER COURSE

Goals and Objectives: To present Critical Care Personnel with a concise review and update on the cognitive aspects and practical skills involved in emergency cardiac care.
Course Structure: There are a variety of presentations and several practical stations to develop psychomotor skills.
Discussion Topics Include:
Algorhythm Interventions
Monitoring and Dysrhythmia Recognition
Adjuncts for Airway Control & Ventilation
Cardiovascular Pharmacology
Electrical Therapy
Coronary Syndromes
Intravenous and Invasive Techniques
Stroke Care
Skill Stations Incorporate:
  1. CPR - Basic Life Support
  2. Airway Management BLS/ALS
  3. Electrical and Pharmacological Interventions
  4. Rhythm Recognition and their Treatment
  5. Case Presentations and Management

These courses are designed for participants who are comfortable with their ACLS skills and would like to receive the latest updated ACLS materials and briefly review for the written and practical evaluations.
NOTE: Evening Renewal course starts at 5:00pm.

Travel Directions

From State Route 17, take exit 56 at Church Street, Elmira. Continue on Church Street through the city of Elmira. The street will become one-way, westbound at Hoffman Street. Continue for 0.7 mile to Demarest Parkway. The EMSTAR Building will on the corner, on your right.
     From the west, take Rt 352 to Elmira. At the traffic light in West Elmira, take Water Street (one-way eastbound) for 1.2 miles. Turn left onto Demarest Parkway. Go one block, cross Church Street, and the EMSTAR building will be on your right.

PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT PROVIDERS' COURSE

2 Day Provider Course:
Day 1 - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (includes Recertification portion)
Day 2 - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
1/2 Day Renewal Course
(4 hours) an excellent way to keep your PALS knowledge current.

SUMMARY
This course meets the standards of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association for the training of providers in pediatric advanced life support. The goal of the program is to integrate knowledge and motor skills into a clinically useful discipline. It is designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, paramedics, nurse practitioners and other allied health care professionals. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course completion card will be awarded to participants who satisfactorily complete both the written and practical station evaluations.
